The third annual Annabelle Street Festival was Saturday, June 11, in downtown Anna. Hot and sunny weather prevailed for the festival, which was held to celebrate the Annabelle hydrangea plant, which was discovered in 1910 near Anna. For the festival East Davie Street in downtown Anna was closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate the event. The Anna-Jo Garden Club sold potted Annabelle hydrangeas. Other highlights of the festival included music, activities for children, surrey rides and vendors featuring a wide range of items.
