Cobden Legion baseball improves to 4-2 with wins

The Cobden American Legion baseball team won twice in recent action.

Cobden 8, Carrier Mills 6: Trailing 6-0 going into the 6th inning, host Cobden erupted for six runs on its way to the win Friday, June 16.

Bayden Ditterline was 2-for-3 to lead Cobden at the plate. Zane Nance and Josh Burgess were each 1-for-3. Bryce Reynolds was 1-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Cody Wieseman and Brayden Clark were each 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs apiece. Chandler West was 1-for-4.

Ditterline, Nance, Burgess and West pitched in the win, combining on 7 hits to go with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Cobden 8, Carterville 5: Nance was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs to lead host Cobden to the win Monday, June 12.

West was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Landon Britt and West were each 1-for-2 with an RBI apiece. Noah Franklin and Reynolds were each 1-for-2. Ditterline was 1-for-3.

Ditterline and West pitched in the win. Ditterline pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 hits to go with a walk and 5 strikeouts. West pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 hits to go with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Cobden, 4-2, is scheduled to play against Christopher at Rend Lake Community College near Ina Friday.
