Davie School Inn, Anna, under new ownership

The Davie School Inn in Anna is under new management.

Lyle and Tammy Woodrum bought The Davie School Inn from Gary and Andrea Dahmer on June 29.

The Woodrums are not from the area. They have spent much of their lives moving around to different areas, including Georgia, Texas and India.

They worked several years in corporations and decided they wanted to run a bed and breakfast.

All over the country, they stayed in B&B’s that were for sale, trying to find one that they liked enough to buy in a town that they liked and felt like their customers would keep coming back to stay.

“It gave us the small town feel,” Lyle said about Anna.

They have several plans for the future of The Davie School Inn.

They are currently constructing a deck on the back of the building for their guests and are redoing some areas.

They also hope to one day host banquets, weddings and community events in the gym.

“Gary established a cool business,” Lyle said about former owner Gary Dahmer.

The inn is located in a former Anna school building.
