Helicopter landing zone training held

Area firefighters and emergency services personnel attended a training program Monday evening, June 6, at the Cobden Community Park in Cobden.
 
The training focused on ways to handle the landing of a helicopter during an emergency. The Cobden Fire Department hosted the training program.
 
Cobden Fire Chief Larry Quertermous watched as an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter landed at the park.
 
The training was presented by Air Evac Lifeteam program director Heather Morse.
 
An estimated 30 to 40 people from the Cobden, Alto Pass, Anna, Dongola, Jonesboro and Makanda fire departments, the Union County Ambulance Service and the Union County Rescue Squad were among those who attended the event.
