Lick Creek School presents show for Grandparents’ Day

Lick Creek School hosted annual Grandparents’ Day events on Thursday and Friday, April 12-13.

The days’ events finished with a concert performance during lunch, with students from pre-kindergarten classes through 5th grade participating.

The theme of the show was a tribute to “The Wizard of Oz.” Students dressed up as the characters from the popular film and story and performed the iconic musical numbers from the film.

Lick Creek music teacher Elizabeth Corbit organized the concert and led the students in their routines.

Featured in the show were Kenzie Stover, Kylie Tripp, Luke Vaughn and Brinley Corbit, who portrayed the film’s famous quartet and did special solo renditions of their respective “If I Only Had…” songs. Stover also sang a solo performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
