Major road closure announced

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced a major road closing in the area that can affect Union County residents.
Illinois Rt. 3 and Illinois Rt. 146 will be closed near McClure Starting at 7 p.m. this evening, June 21 as the result of recent flooding. The roads will remain closed until the floodwaters recede.
Warning sights will be in place to alert drives of the closure. Drivers headed to Cape Girardeau will need to find an alternate route.
