Shawnee College offers free GED classes in area
Shawnee Community College’s Adult Education Program is planning to offer GED classes this fall.
The classes will be offered at various locations in the area and at the college’s main campus near Ullin.
Classes are scheduled to begin Aug. 22. The classes are offered at no cost to students.
Main Campus
GED classes are scheduled at the college’s main campus near Ullin on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bridge to Health Careers Class
A Bridge to Health Careers class is scheduled at the same location on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Cairo Center
In Cairo, GED classes will be offered at the college’s extension center, which is now located at Cairo High School.
Classes are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Anna Center
In Anna, GED classes are set at the college’s extension center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Introduction to Computers
An Introduction to Computers class is scheduled at the Anna center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Metropolis Center
In Metropolis, classes are scheduled at the Spence Community Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Basic Computers
A Basic Computers class is scheduled in Metropolis on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Vienna
In Vienna, GED classes are set at Vienna High School on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
