U.S. HUD Secretary Ben Carson visits Cairo

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson visited Cairo on Tuesday, Aug. 8, in response to a public housing crisis which has been unfolding in the community.

Carson toured the Elmwood and McBride housing complexes, both of which have been deemed uninhabitable and are slated to be demolished.

After the tour, a private meeting with selected community members and a semi-public meeting at Cairo High School, open only to residents of McBride and Elmwood, took place.
