The Anna Fire Department responded to the scene of a field fire early last Sunday afternoon. The fire was in a harvested corn field along the Casper Church Road, between Anna and Cobden. The cause of the fire was not determined. The fire burned about an acre. Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour. The Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police also were at the scene for traffic control.
