No Shave November supports Anna officer

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Anna Police Department sponsored its first No Shave November event last month as a way to show support for one of its own.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The police department raised about $1,600 for Anna police officer Shawn Knupp, who recently was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“It’s overwhelming. It makes you feel very fortunate and blessed,” Knupp said about the support which was shown to him.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Awards were given out to the man with the most unique beard and the woman with the hairiest legs.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Judging was held Dec. 1 at the police department in Anna.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Josh Schildknecht won the most unique beard contest and $50. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Rebecca Corbit won the hairiest legs contest and $50.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Those who donated were eligible for a drawing that included prizes from several local businesses, including Jamie’s Nails, Curt’s Classics, Union County Country Club, Rusty’s Home Center and Dairy Queen.</span></p>
