David Karl MacLeod
David Karl MacLeod, 72, of Cobden, died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1944, in Mobile, Ala., the son of John A. and Mary Lucille Anderson MacLeod.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia MacLeod (Peter) Currey of Gallatin, Tenn., and Pamela Kay MacLeod of Gorham, N.H.; one grandson, Shawn Welsh; one sister, Janet MacLeod of Adamant, Vt.; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Illinois National Guard for a few years. He was an avid car enthusiast and his passion was rebuilding street rods. He worked for many years as a mechanic before retiring.
A celebration of life for Mr. MacLeod was held at the Great Boars of Fire on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. Friends and fellow car enthusiasts were asked to meet at the Anna Walmart parking lot at 4:30 p.m. and to follow in a procession to the Great Boars of Fire.
