Wilma Lingle

Wilma Lingle, 97, of Anna, died at 11:42 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

She was born on Aug. 16, 1919, in Union County, the daughter of John and Ona Mae Stokes Burlison. 

She married Melvin Lingle. He preceded her in death in March of 1969.

She is survived by her children, Don Lingle of Lake of Egypt, Janice (Peter) Bugel of Coral Springs, Fla., and Gordon (JoAnn) Lingle of Gun Barrel City, Texas; grandchildren Dawn (Kevin) Oestreicher, Andrew Lingle, Kelli (Karl) Kurtz, Michael (Pamela) Lingle, Steve Oltman, Kenneth (Monique) Lingle, Danielle Lingle, Benjamin Lingle, Brian Kurtz and Matthew Kurtz; and great-grandchildren Danielle Filson, Erin Shup, Brianna Oestreicher, Tristan Lingle, Juliette Lingle, Gavin Lingle, Dawson Eric and A.J. Filson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Lingle; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Kay Lingle. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed quilt making, crocheting and gardening. 

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lingle will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Goreville, with Pastor Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
