Clara M. Nehring

Clara M. Nehring, 73, of Vergennes, died at 4:57 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Integrity Healthcare in Energy.

She was born on May 27, 1944, in Anna, the daughter of O. Ordell and Wanda Barnhart Goodman.

She married George Nehring on May 18, 1990, in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her husband, George Nehring of Vergennes; a daughter, Pam (Tony) Newman of Lick Creek; a son, Robert (Jennifer) Nehring of Du Quoin; a daughter, Becky (Wade) Fletcher of Galatia; eight grandchildren, Tony Joe (Britany) Newman, Rebecca Newman (fiance, Frank), Ashley Cook, Bailey and Elijah Nehring, Madison (Andy) McFarland, Megan and Madison Fletcher; three great-grandchildren, Jacalynn Kennedy, Braxton Knupp and Hank Newman; brothers and sisters Audrey (John) Davis of Jonesboro, Joyce Anderson of Anna, Jerry (Bonnie) Goodman of Wolf Lake, Harley (Linda) Goodman of Phoenix, Ariz., Lloyd (Brenda) Goodman of Anna and Rose Mary (Joe) Perkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janice Mary Cook; a granddaughter, Kimberly Cook; a sister, Dottie Lipe; infant sisters Cheryl Ann and Bonnie Gale Goodman; and brothers-in-law Larry Anderson and Cletus Davis.

She was of the Baptist faith. She worked for many years as a cook at various restaurants.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nehring were at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment was in Tripp Memorial Cemetery at Dutch Ridge.
