Opal L. Treece

Opal L. Treece, 95, of Breese, and formerly of Anna, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at her home.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1922, in Dongola, the daughter of Elbert Henry and Iva Eve Ury Dillow.

She married Martin Leon Treece on May 7, 1942. They shared 67 years together. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2009.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Lavon Otrich and Devra Lane Treece, both of Breese; three grandchildren, Christine Noel (Ronald) Gramann, Zachary Michael Treece and Jackson Thomas Treece; one great-grandchild, Spencer John Gramann; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin Leon Treece; a son, Dr. Michael Leon Treece; four sisters, Blanche Allen, Ruth Angel, Hazel Davis and Jean Crocker; and one brother, Walter Dean Dillow.

She was a member of the Anna First Baptist Church for over 55 years. She was a devoted Christian and over the years she has read her Bible in entirety more than 30 times. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, joining in 1984. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting in her spare time. She was a dedicated mother to her children and made raising them her life’s work.

Funeral services for Mrs. Treece will be at noon Friday, Nov. 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Les Sinks officiating. Interment will be in Casper Cemetery near Anna.

Friends can call after 10 a.m. and until the service hour at noon Friday, Nov. 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
