Valarine M. Tucker Thomas

Valarine M. Tucker Thomas, 89, of Jonesboro, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Integrity Heathcare in Anna.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1927, in Saratoga, the daughter of Alva and Emma Wall Tucker.

She married William H. Thomas on Feb. 2, 1946, in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1994.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Robert) MacNiff-Kolb of Inverness; four grandchildren, Colin (Beth) MacNiff, Emily MacNiff (Todd), Jessica Kolb (Justin) Jones and Angele Kolb; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Thomas Alexander, and Alaina and Ryleigh Jones; a step-daughter, Inis Thomas Houseman of Florissant, Mo., and her children, Diane, Brian, Richard and Toy; two sisters, Geneva Elkins of Jonesboro and Eva Anderson of Normal; three nieces, Sheryl Elkins Netherton, Cathy Elkins Freeman and Darla Tucker Corzine; three nephews, Rodney Anderson, Vernon Tucker and Randy Tucker; many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William H. Thomas; three brothers, Leon, Clifton and Ralph Tucker; two nephews, and one great-nephew.

She was a devoted and faithful member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro, where she and her husband were founding members of the church. Throughout the years she found abiding friendship and family through the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas were at noon Monday, Nov. 20, at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Mark Goins and the Rev. Jim Galbraith officiating. Interment was in the Casper Cemetery near Anna.
