Virginia Joyce Harrington

Virginia Joyce Harrington, died at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, on Dec. 6, 2017.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1936, in Price, Ky., the eldest child of Gilbert and Clarice Wills.

Graduating from Ballard Memorial High School, she was employed for many years and retired as a riverboat cook. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was completely devoted to her family.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Trexler (Brooke Miller) and Jack Trexler; a brother, Ron Wills; a sister, Donna (JD) Martin; grandsons David (Megan) Coats and Daniel Coats; granddaughters Michaela Trexler and Tasha Trexler-Thompson (Mike); great-grandchildren Dylan Coats, Harley Coats, Jaxon Coats, Mathew and Harper Thompson; cousins Jackie Howell and Rachel Poole; and a friend who was like a son, Dale Espina; nephews Gary (Betsy) Coats, Steven (Andrea) Coats, David Childers, Ron Wills Jr. and Tommy Wills; nieces Cindy (Will) Andrews, Audra (Rob) Needham and Sara Wills; sisters-in-law Diane Wills, Elaine Wills, Theresa (Danny) Harrington and Sharon (Tony) Harrington; along with many others.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Robert Coats Sr., Jack Trexler and Jerhald “Jerry” Harrington; a son, Robert Coats; a daughter, Susan Beth Coats; and three brothers, Harry Wills, Jim Wills and Howell Wills.

Memorial services were at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Randy Morgan and David Coats officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Cobden City Cemetery.
