Earl F. Lingle
Earl F. Lingle, 73, of Alto Pass, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at his home.
He was born on March 5, 1944, in Anna, the son of Melvin M. and Hazel D. Sitter Lingle.
He married Patsy “Pat” Eldridge in 1964.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Lingle; four children, Dave (Joanie) Lingle of Alto Pass, Tina (Mike) Housewirth of Chatham, Becky (Rob) Bartelsmeyer of Lebanon, Mo., and Phil (Susan) Lingle of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Gage, Sophie, Peyton, Baylie and Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Abi; brothers and sisters Jeff (Pat) Lingle of Cobden, Sarah (Bill) Barnhart of Marshall, John (Carolyn) Lingle of Bradenton and Rick (Ruby) Lingle of Cobden; sisters-in-law Shirley Eldridge-Darby and husband Randy Darby of Marion and Cheri Clark-Eldridge of Whittier, Calif.; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Virgil (Dorothy) Eldridge; a sister-in-law, Jackie Eldridge; and a brother-in-law, Fred Eldridge.
He was a member of the Cobden Masonic Lodge. He was a founding member of the Alto Pass Fire Department. He enjoyed doing genealogy research in his free time. He was always delighted to see his grandchildren. He retired after 35 years of service at Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna.
Funeral services for Mr. Lingle were Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass, with the Rev. Davy Miller and Jeff Lingle officiating. Interment was in the Also Pass Cemetery.
Masonic rites were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
