Barbara ‘Bobbie’ Adams
Barbara “Bobbie” Adams, 82, of Anna, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at home.
She was born on April 30, 1935, in Cobden, the daughter of Earl and Bessie Lewis Guthrie.
She married James D. Adams on Oct. 17, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Adams of Anna; her stepmother, Mernie Guthrie of Booneville, Miss.; two sons, Timothy Adams and his wife Mary Rothschild-Adams of Anna and Jamie (Amber) Adams of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Frey, Katlyn Frey and Eban Adams; two sisters, Earlene Guthrie Cyrill of Spartanburg, S.C., and Donna Cartmell of Booneville, Miss.; nieces and nephews; long time friends Opal Ulrich, Laura Mueller and Barbara Gamble; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna and the American Legion.
She was a hairdresser for many years. She enjoyed reading and crocheting in her spare time. She would always send cards to others for special occasions.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adams were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
