Maye A. Stout

Maye A. Stout, 89, of Buncombe, died at 2:33 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at the Union County Hospital LTC in Anna.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1928, in Cobden, the daughter of John H. and Lydia Trees Haire.

She married Billy G. Stout on Feb. 28, 1948, in Osceola, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Crawford of Lick Creek; sons John M. Stout of Lick Creek, Richard (Mary Ann) Stout, Bill Jr. (Pam) Stout and Larry Stout, all of Anna; nine grandchildren, Kelsey and Nicole Crawford, Kathryn Mowery, Carey (Tim) Solley, Kristin (Tony) Manary, Casey Stout, Stephanie (Donovon) Davis, Stacy (Ryan) Warner and Amy (Billy) Abernathy; 12 great-grandchildren, Grace and Beckham Mowery, Margaret, Ava, Leah, and Ben Solley, Brooke and Jude Manary, Loren Davis, Cameron Aguirre, and Logan and Blake Abernathy; two sisters, Vera Colboth of Anna and Faye Eaves of Buncombe; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Haire of Elgin and Virginia Page of Carterville; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy  G. Stout; five brothers, David, Arthur, Richard, Lowell and Charles Haire; and two sisters, Elizabeth Manus and Irma Blankenship.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Anna for many years. She was the nursery caregiver at church and watched many of the children grow up that she had rocked to sleep.

She was an avid Lick Creek Eagles fan, and later a fan of A-J Wildcat sports. She dearly loved watching her grandchildren during their sporting events, shouting encouragement from the stands.

Funeral services for Maye A. Stout will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, today, at the First Christian Church in Anna, with Pastor Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery.

Friends can call from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 1 p.m. Thursday, today, at the First Christian Church in Anna.

Memorials can be made to the Lick Creek athletic fund or F.C.C. missionary fund.
