Scott Baker, 56, of Dongola, died at 5:32 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at home in Dongola.

He was born on April 8, 1961, in Anna, the son of Thomas J. and Bertha Lucille Trexler Baker. He married Rhonda Baker.

He was a truck driver for over 40 years locally for Flamm Orchards and Jack Shepard Logging. His CB handle was “Pop a Top.” His passions were fishing and golfing. He held a membership at the Eagle Club in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Baker; children Katherine Denise Baker, Anthony Shane Baker, April Marie Baker, Tiffany Howell Guidry, Stephanie Renee Shepard and Shelbie Rose Baker; 10 grandchildren, Bryan Matthew Baker, Alexis Nicole Baker, Alijah Baker, Sopie Baker, James Stein, Ali Jade Baker, Oaklyn Tayte Shepard, Derell Terrell Mosley Jr., Sean Monroe Guidry Jr., and Valex John Guidry; his father, Thomas Baker; siblings Lucille Buxton, Jan Robertson, Brenda Brown, Pat Lovell, Mike Baker, Brian Baker and Kimberly Gentry; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Baker, and a brother, Jeff Baker.

Funeral services for Scott Baker will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, today, at the funeral home.
