Alan Lafoon

Alan Lafoon, 62, of Louisville, Kentucky, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at his home. 

He was born on Oct. 22, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of Carl and Mary Anna Busch Lafoon.

He is survived by his sister, Susan (Rick) Sherwood of Cobden; a special friend, Nancy Langford of Louisville; an aunt, Bobby Sue McCall of Silver City, N.M.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, golf and photography. Living in Louisville, he loved the Kentucky Derby and the horses.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. For many years, he worked as an auto mechanic in both Carbondale and Louisville.

Graveside services for Alan Lafoon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Cobden Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Hartline officiating.
