Andrew Warner Larsen

Andrew Warner Larsen

Andrew Warner Larsen, a blessing from God since his birth on Nov. 12, 2007, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2021.

He was an eighth grade student at Lick Creek School.

Andrew loved nature and enjoyed hunting with his dad, Erik Larsen, and spending time in the woods that surrounded their home.

He loved morning trips to school and spending time with his grandparents, Lars and Carole Larsen.

He loved his Grandpa Larsen’s homemade bread, and learning about all things nature, science and history related.

Andrew enjoyed the adventures that he took each summer with cousin Lily and Aunt Sue.

His love of the outdoors further continued as he enjoyed swimming at the Ferne Clyffe waterfall with his mother, Rebecca Bryan, and his sister, Jenna Holshouser. He loved the hikes they went on and the things they discovered in the woods.

Andrew loved riding horses and spending time with his Papa Doug and Grandma Tish Simmons. They often rode on the trails at Giant City.  He also enjoyed playing with Papa Doug’s trains.

Andrew is also survived by his stepmother, Jamie Hickam; aunts and uncles Susan (Stacey) Ramsey, Greg (Tammy) Larsen, Clif (Shannon) Bryan, Larry Bryan and John (Kelly) Bryan; cousins Devin and Cody Bryan, Emily (Ethen) Sherwood and Lily Kinzler.

He was preceded in death by his Granny Mom, Nevada Hileman; his Great Papa, Warner Hileman; his aunt, Jennifer Larsen; and his “Uncle” Tim Saugstad.

Andrew’s friends and family were very dear to him. Andrew, always the generous hugger, easily shared his love with others.  Andrew had a big heart and loved helping those in need.

He had an incredible imagination and never stopped creating with his mind and hands.  He had a great love of animals and caring for his pets.

Andrew was kind and silly.  He was a shining light that will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Andrew’s life was held at noon Saturday, Nov. 20,  at Christ Community Church in Murphysboro.

An additional memorial gathering took place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at The Old Depot in Anna.
