Anna Lou Miller

Anna Lou Miller, 87, of Karnak, died at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at her home, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1936, in Metropolis. She was a 1954 graduate of the Metropolis High School. 

Anna and Leroy (Bill) Miller were united in marriage on Dec. 22, 1953. 

She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, shopping, traveling and fishing. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy (Bill) Miller; two daughters, Toni Rae Miller Simpson (James) of Tucson, Ariz., and Terrie Lea Bloom (Chris) of Karnak; grandchildren Rebecca Metcalf of Des Moines, Iowa, Joshua Simpson (Michelle) of Tucson, Ariz., Jennifer Koch (Todd) of Fruitland, Iowa, and Vann (Victoria) Bloom of Muscatine, Iowa; great-grandchildren Kameron Casey Metcalf (Brandie), Emrie, Keilyn, Todd Jr., Alanah and Adriann Koch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Helen Shelton Alliston; daughter Anna Jean Miller; two sisters, Paula Jean Boyd and Helen Diane Dallmeyer; and one brother, Art Alliston.

Graveside funeral services honoring the life of Anna Lou Miller were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Metropolis Memorial Garden Cemetery in Metropolis. Speakers were Chris Bloom and Todd Koch.
