Bert Robinson

On Aug. 2, 2022, Bert Robinson died at St Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Nov. 8, 1924, the son of Effie Denfip Robinson and the late Bert Robinson. His father died before he was born on Oct. 24, 1924.

Mr. Robinson was one of four children and all of his siblings, Mabel Morrison, Elvis Robison and Roy Robinson, have died. He has several nieces and nephews who survive.

He married Doris Clinton Robinson on July 22, 1946, and was happily married for 72 years until her death in December of 2018.

Mr. Robinson is survived by two daughters and a son, Michael Tuttle of Sonora, Calif., who was discovered to be his son through DNA. Bert and Mike met and established a relationship in 2019. 

His daughters are Carolyn Duvall and Nancy Garrison of Deland, Fla. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Moore, in July of 2013.

Mr. Robinson was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and had fond memories of the sweet people there. He was a truck driver and always said he loved his job. He loved people and people just loved him back. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery with full military rites.
