Bill Hutchison, 82, of Dongola, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Union County, the son of William T. and Mae M. Tucker Hutchison.
He married Glenda Mae Ferguson. She preceded him in death.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Local No. 318. He was a member of Anna Masonic Lodge No. 520 and was a 3rd Degree Master Mason, a member of Scottish Rites in Belleville and a member of First Baptist Church in Dongola.
He is survived by his son, William “Billy” Hutchison of Dongola; granddaughters Nichelle (Bradley) Drew of Villa Grove and Paige (Stephen) Bertrand of Villa Grove; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaleb and Kaitlyn Drew, Halley Drinkwater and Jacob and Isaiah Bertrand; sisters Joan (Homer) Foskey of Anna, MaryAnn (Donnie) Jones of Palm Harbor, Fla., Linda (Eli) Helton of Indianapolis, Ind., Phyllis (David) Chick of Paducah, Kim (Bryan) Reeves of Hillsboro, Mo., and Connie (Bill) Yates of Marissa; a brother, Paul Hutchison of Tyler, Texas; a brother-in-law, Loren Ferguson of Anna; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenda Hutchison; a sister, Betty Rhymer; a brother, Donnie Hutchison; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kolby Drew; and a brother-in-law, Dean Ferguson.
Masonic rites were held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, by Anna Masonic Lodge No. 520 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 18, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery. Military rites were accorded by the VFW’s Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 and the Illinois honor guard.
