Bill T. Smith

Bill T. Smith, 73, of Cobden, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. 

He was born on Dec. 22, 1945, in Grand Tower, the son of Velma L. Smith. He married Georgia Niblack.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Smith of Cobden; one son, Bill Wright of Ozark; one brother, John Smith of Jonesboro; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, and by 10 brothers and sisters. 

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and served on the ritual team for many years.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. 

Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites were conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna.
