Billy Gene Osman

Billy Gene Osman, 72, of Dongola, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Daystar in Cairo.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1943, in Anna, the son of Audy and Retha Hinkle Osman.

He enjoyed working on the family farm and had an avid admiration for the Allis-Chalmers tractor. He retired after 30 years of service as a conservation resource technician with the Division of Forest Service. He spent many weekends at Loretta Lynn's ranch and developed a friendship that he was very proud of.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Carter of Buncombe; several nieces, nephews and especially his caregivers at Daystar in Cairo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Olen and Jimmie Osman.

Funeral services were at noon Friday, May 13, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro with the Rev. Victor Duckworth officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Dongola.
