Billy Gene Rader

Billy Gene Rader, 58, of California, Mo., died at his home on Friday, June 17, 2022.  

He was born on Dec. 28, 1963, in Cairo, the son of William and Connie Rader, Carol Phillips both of whom preceded him in death. 

Mr. Rader graduated from Egyptian High School in Tamms.

He was married on Sept. 25, 1999, in Holts Summit, Mo., to Debbie Cantrell, who survives at home.  

He was co-owner of B&D Mechanical for many years. He loved traveling, floating, his dogs, playing his guitar and music. 

He will be missed by thousands of his friends of music.  

Mr. Rader is survived by three sons, David Rader (Jessica) of Metropolis, Brian Rader (Stephanie) of Paducah and Adam Rader (Taylor) of Metropolis; six daughters, Samantha Rader and Ashley Rader, both of California, Mo., Jamie Burnett of Leawood, Kan., Gina Infranca (Tony) of Lees Summit, Mo., Jessica Darst of South Carolina and Jacque Thomasson (Lloyd) of Holts Summit, Mo.; a brother, Jesse Rader of California, Mo.; a sister,  Debbie Dunning of Karnak; nieces and nephews Mandy, Jerry, Frank, Derrick and Kelsey; and 22 grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunts, Wiley and Sue Rader and Glenna Lou Moak.  

A celebration of life was held at noon Thursday, June 23, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Pastor Peter Kurowski  officated, assisted by Pastor Frank Hensley.  

Memorials are suggested to Save The Music Foundation, c/o the funeral home.
