Bobbie J. Tucker Jr.

Bobbie J. Tucker Jr., 52, of Marion, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at home.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1964, in Phoenix, Ariz., the son of Bobbie J. Sr. and Lynne Tucker.

He is survived by his mother, Lynne Keltner and stepfather, Mark E. Keltner of Santa Ana, Calif.; two sons, Bobbie James Tucker Obderndorfer of Brookfield, Conn., and Justin Mills of Hawaii; one sister, Donielle Swain of Westville; one brother, Michael J. Tucker of Tustin, Calif.; half-sisters Amy (Brandon) Harp of Olmsted, Tressie Tucker of St. Louis and Holly (Todd) Born of Fort Worth, Texas; uncles Jim Tucker and Victor Tucker; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie J. Tucker Sr.; grandmother Tressie Tucker; grandfather Claude Tucker; grandmother Ada Mae Casper; aunt Donna Botula; and uncle Mark Casper.

He graduated from Foothill High School and went directly into the U.S. Army after graduation. When he left the Army, he worked overseas for a company that installed electrical WiFi systems in airplanes. He returned to Tustin in 1994 and started his own lawn care business that he worked at for several years. From there, he went into home loans, where he found his niche. He worked several years with his wife, Sherry, until they divorced in 2011.

Some of the high points in his life were when he was in high school, he put on a one man art exhibit at a brand new very upscale mall named South Coast Plaza in California that was hailed as one of the best exhibits ever put on. He was a wonderful artist, and he was also a great cook and loved to fish.

He moved to Marion in 2013 to be closer to his father and his family. His family said that as a down home boy, he felt that his roots were here, and the place he loved the most was always home to him.

Memorial services for Bobby J. Tucker Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in the Camp Ground Cemetery near Anna. Military rites will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna.

Friends can call after 1 p.m. until the service hour at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
