Brenda Sims Bennett

Brenda Sims Bennett, 53, of Anna, of Anna, and formerly of Grand Tower, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1962, in Oregon, the daughter of Karell and Lena Clutts Sims.

She married Mark Bennett on Nov. 21, 1980.

She worked as a CNA and director of medical records at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. She loved her family, friends, grandchildren and all of her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and collecting Elvis memorabilia and also enjoyed collecting Indian memorabilia.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Bennett of Anna; a son, Daniel Bennett of Jonesboro; daughters Danielle (Chris) Davidson and Mechelle Bennett, both of Jonesboro; grandsons J.P. Zavala, Julian Cotzajay, Jacob Doss and Alex Bennett, all of Jonesboro; granddaughters Isabel Zavala of Jonesboro, Aubrey Davidson of Paducah and Kayleigh, Kiyleigh and Kynleigh Shepard of Jonesboro; her mother, Lena (Clutts) Sims of Anna; a brother, Bill Sims of Buncombe; sisters Rhonda (Mike) Ford of Buncombe and Darla (Shawn) Fleming of Anna; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Karell Sims and a brother, Darrell Sims.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Larry Barnhart officiating. Interment was in Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.

Memorials can be made to Crain Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
