Carl Everett Rhodes

Carl Everett Rhodes, 91, of Wolf Lake, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at his home.

He was born on March 23, 1925, in Wolf Lake, the son of Albert and Lula Foster Rhodes.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Rhodes of Alto Pass; numerous nieces and nephews, Annie Rhodes, Jim Rhodes, Wanda Bradford, Mildred Fox, Barbara Barlow, Paul Pender, Don Pind, Clarence Pind, Fred Pender, Stanley Rhodes, Everett Rhodes and Jim Pind; several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He worked as a correctional officer at the Menard Correctional Center for 36 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Funeral services for Mr. Rhodes were at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Anna, with Stan Hutchinson and Greg Etherton officiating. Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.

Graveside military rites were conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Navy funeral honor detail.

Memorials can be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church.
