Carl Harlan Sandlin, Jr.

Carl Harlan Sandlin Jr., 84, of Anna, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. 

He was born on June 1, 1935, in Union County, the son of Carl Harlan Sandlin Sr. and Frances Bradley Sandlin. 

He married Barbara Merriman on May 26, 1961.  

He recently attended New Beginnings Community Worship in Anna. He previously attended the Dongola United Pentecost Church. He worked many years at the Florsheim Shoe
Factory and at Union County Hospital in Anna. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sandlin of Anna; three daughters, Penny Sandlin of Anna, Peggy Duty of Jonesboro and Kloe Dallas of Anna; one son, Paul Sandlin of Carterville; four grandchildren, Brian Hinkle, Robin Wilson and Jeremy Duty, all of Anna, and Angie Smith of Dongola; seven great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Troy and Martha Sandlin. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one  brother, Terry Sandlin. 

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. John Gourley officiating. Interment was in Casper Cemetery near Anna.

Memorials can be made to Girl Scout Troop 8597.
