Carol Bernice Hickam

Carol Bernice Hickam, 56, of Dongola, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Herrin Hospital.

She was born on June 17, 1959, in Bruckenau, Germany, the daughter of Wendall R. Miller and Berdie Toler Miller.

She married James Hickam in Alto Pass.

She is survived by her husband, James Hickam of Dongola; two sons, James Allen Hickam and Justin Ray Hickam, both of Dongola; her father, Wendall R. (Vernita) Miller of Alto Pass; one brother, Wade (Patty) Miller of Chester; her mother-in-law, Joan Hickam of Tamms; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She was a member of the Dongola Baptist Church for many years. She worked as a certified nurse assistant.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hickam were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Carroll Toler officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek.
