Carol Isabelle Hall

Carol Isabelle Hall, 84, of Mayfield, Ky., and formerly of Jackson Center, Pa., died at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville, Ky.

She was born on Jan. 24, 1938, in Jackson Center, Pa., the daughter of Virgil Fredrick and Emily Corfield Corns Williams.

She married William “Bill” Hall in 1985. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2000.

She served in the U.S. Army from June 22, 1956, until July 16, 1957. She earned a certificate as a cook during her time in the service. She worked as the manager at One Hour Cleaning in Cairo. 

She was a great mother who worked her entire life to provide for her family. Carol was a devoted Christian and her faith never wavered. She enjoyed working in the church nursery in Mayfield.  

Survivors include her son, Bobby Thompson of Mayfield, Ky.; a daughter, April (Pascual) Caballero of Tamms; grandchildren Joshua (Christy) Burton of Clarkton, Mo., Surrena (Steven) McHughes of Olive Branch, Rachael (Chad) Price of Sikeston, Mo., Bonnie (Kenneth) Tucker  of Thebes, Angela Caballero of Tamms and Jesse (Alyssa) Caballero of Olive Branch; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandsons; a sister, Barbara Lou Peth of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Bill” Hall; a son, Gary Thompson; two infant brothers; brothers Melvin “Bud” Williams and David Williams; a sister, Vivian Moldovan; and four nephews.

Funeral services were at noon Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Crain Funeral Home-Tamms.

Burial followed in Mound City National Cemetery, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 178 and the U.S. National Guard. 

Memorials can be made to  the National Breast Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home. 

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
