Carol Jean Peddie

Carol Jean Peddie, 91, of Wickliffe, Ky., and formerly of Cairo, died at 3:28 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Lourdes Mercy Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1928, in Mounds, the daughter of John and Ethel Taylor Littell.

Mrs. Peddie was a social worker with the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid in Cairo.

She was a member of the Mighty Rivers Worship Center in Cairo for many years. She attended the Lutheran Ann’s Society. She was a member and past officer of various other organizations in Cairo over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert James Peddie, in May 1972; brothers Clyde and Jack Littell; and sisters Ruby Wehrenberg and Ruth Erb.

Survivors include two daughters, Gina (Johnnie) Conner of Montros, Mo., and Ann Theriac of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Bruce (Linda) Peddie of Wickliffe, Ky.; grandchildren Rebecca Hawkins, James Conner, Megan Theriac and Steven Theriac; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Ekran and Carter; step-great grandchildren Reagan and Devin; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Mighty Rivers Worship Center in Cairo, with her nephew, the Rev. Jerry Lindsey, and the Rev. Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Interment followed in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
