Charles Roberts, 69, of Cobden, died at 7:11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1948, in Cobden, the son of Raymond Obell and Mary Lee Sorrels Roberts.
He was a hard-working man for many years as a farmer at Flamm’s Orchards in Cobden. After retirement, he loved working on lawn mowers in his spare time.
He is survived by his brother, Dennis (Debbie) Roberts, of Elgin; a sister, Pat (Carl) Dillworth, of West Paducah; sons Christopher Roberts of Lake City, Fla., and Michael Roberts of Dongola; a companion of many years, Joann of Cobden; two nieces, one nephew and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Roberts; sisters Mary Roberts and Deloris Holderfield; and brothers Albert Roberts and Raymond Roberts Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro with family and friends to speak and share memories. Visitation will be from noon up to the hour of the service. Interment will take place in Cobden City Cemetery at a later date.
