Chiquita ‘Lee’ Anderson

Chiquita “Lee” Anderson, 75, of Olive Branch, died peacefully at her home on April 23, 2023.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Ralph and Carmen Williams King. 

She married Garrett Thomas Anderson on Aug. 5, 1983.

She worked in a variety of fields for years until she became a stay at home mom and homemaker. She loved her family, especially her grandkids.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Garrett Anderson of Olive Branch; three sons, Billy (Tiffiny) Smith of Olive Branch, Cary (Cora) Anderson of Oceanside, Calif., and Garrett (Sami) Anderson of Champaign; nine grandkids, two great-grandkids; one sister, Phyllis (Ronnie) Smith of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Helen Poe and Ruthie Miller, both of Pocahontas, Ark.; one brother-in-law, Eddie Anderson of Tamms; and several other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Billy Edward Smith Sr.; a sister, Clara Jean; a sister-in-law, Shirley; three brothers-in-law, Bob, Daryl and Danny; and two nephews.

Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with Tim Parker officiating. Burial followed at 1 p.m. at Mound City National Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
