Christopher L. ‘Chris’ Ayers

Chris Ayers, 52, of North Port, Ala., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. 

He was born on May 22, 1966, in Anna, the son of Kermett W. and Betty Joan Basler Ayers.

He is survived by his brother, Tim (Mary) Ayers of Madison, Ala.; one nephew; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Mr. Ayers earned his bachelor of arts degree from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree from the University of Birmingham. He was working as an occupational therapist at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. 

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating. Interment was in Casper Cemetery near Anna.
