Clifford Jones
Clifford Jones, 74, of Anna, died at 9:03 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at his home with his wife and children by his side.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1941, in Portland, Ore., the son of Emmette and Ruth Rowell Jones.
He married Marilyn Elkins in 1981 in Jonesboro.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn Elkins Jones of Anna; two daughters, Janet Jones and Julie Lenord; one son, David Jones, all of the Joliet area; five stepchildren, whom he raised and loved as his own, sons Mitchell (Monica) Bryant of Louisiana, Michael (Lee Anne) Bryant of Anna and Tony (Sherri) Bryant of Dongola; daughters Melissa (Jason) Winchester of Carbondale and Sylvia (Eric) Needham of Dongola; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dianne McConnel of Alto, N.M.; one brother, Michael Jones of St. Louis; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons and twin sisters.
He was a member of the Wolf Lake Pentecostal Church, where he attended until he became ill. For most of his career, he worked in security at the power plant in Grand Tower. He enjoyed his career and his work. He loved radios and computers and spending time with his family.
Graveside services for Mr. Jones were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Casper Cemetery near Anna, with the Rev. Mitchell Bryant officiating. Interment was in the Casper Cemetery.
