Connie Dodson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Connie Dodson of Marion, Illinois, born in Eldorado, Illinois, who passed away on Sept. 19, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Doris Grace Gossett (Richardson) and Robert O. Gossett; and her grandchild Trace Oakley Bittle. 

She is survived by her children, Shelley Bittle Schonewolf (Scott) of Marion, Barry Bittle (Missy) of Marion, and Robbie Dodson of Dobbins, Calif; her grandson Jerzy Danae Bittle; and her brother Roger Gossett of Vienna.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30  from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home located at 800 N. Market St. in Marion. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. at the same location.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Trace Bittle Scholarship Fund or St. Francis Community Animal Rescue @ Education (CARE) of Murphysboro. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.
