Conrad Sherman Kee

Conrad Sherman Kee, 87, of Staunton, died peacefully with family by his side at his residence on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. 

Born on Feb. 4, 1934, in Elco, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse and Donetta Brooks Kee. 

He married Barbara Wilhite on June 24, 2018, in Staunton, and she survives. 

He worked as an electrician with the United Steel Workers Union for 38 years. 

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. 

He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and Trinity Methodist Church of Granite City. He enjoyed the outdoors, long walks and taking photographs.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilhite-Kee of Staunton; five children, Tina (Vince) Lillis of Tampa, Fla., Debby Marshall of Edwardsville, Carey (Cody) Moore of Edwardsville, Gary Wilhite II of Wood River and Ryan Wilhite of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Adam and Ethan Kee, Ashley Stoeckel, Jessica Biel, Caitlyn, Nick and Ava Tyczka; great-granddaughter, Kendra Stoeckel; three  brothers, Denny, Bobby, and Stanley Kee; and one sister, Donna Jean Mathis. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Conrad Shawn Kee and Leland Hamilton Kee; seven brothers, Lee, Jesse, Vernon, Eanos, George, Lester and Dale Wayne Kee; and two sisters Shirley Almedia and Betty Lou Kee. 

Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. 

Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Burial of cremains will follow memorial services at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.

Memorials are suggested to either Staunton VFW Post No. 1241, the Wounded Warrior Project or the Sierra Club.
