Cora Jean Higgins

Cora Jean Higgins, 73, of Belknap, died at 2:34 a.m. Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her home, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Higgins was born on Oct. 25, 1947, in Casper, Wyo.

She married Carrol Higgins in October 1967 in Evansville, Ind.

She had several jobs, but mostly baby sitting for her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She loved the great outdoors, camping and fishing at Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.

Survivors include her husband, Carrol; a son, Carl Higgins of Belknap; a daughter, Heather Gorham of Hickory, Ky.; six grandchildren, Pheonix, Peyton, Faith, Emmanuel, Sahara and Zyere; a brother, Leroy Bacus of Casper, Wyo.; and a sister, Gloria Hoff, of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Mildred Ayers; and by her sister, Darlene Eddy of Casper, Wyo.

Memorial services honoring the life of Mrs. Cora Jean Higgins were at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. Gerell Cain officiated. Inurnment followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.
