Dareld L. Davis
Dareld L. Davis, 79, of Jackson, Mo., and formerly of Anna, died at 6:37 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on July 26, 1937, in Anna, the son of Curtis and Beatrice Davis Wright.
He married Geraldine Nash on Aug. 30, 1958, in Anna.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Davis of Jackson, Mo.; a son, Brad (Leslie) Davis of Jackson, Mo.; a daughter, Nora (Greg) Duffy of Hayti, Mo.; five grandchildren, Samantha Rawls, Shannon Davis, Heather Mitchell, Katelyn Duffy and Caleb Duffy; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. He also had a fur baby Morley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents who helped raise him, I.G. and Iva Davis; and a brother, Robert “Bob” Wright.
He was a 1954 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. In 1960, he graduated from the University of Michigan with his forestry degree. He served two years in the U.S. Army.
He had a dedicated career for 33 years working for the U.S. Forestry Service. He retired in January 1993. He worked at various locations throughout the United States, finishing his career at the Vienna Ranger Station. After his retirement he managed the Cape County, Missouri, Transit Authority and the Jackson, Mo., Senior Center. He assisted with the computer system and registration.
Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor David Israel and Pastor Jimmie Corbin officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery.
Friends can call after 11 a.m. and until the service hour at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
