Dennis Michael Thompson

Dennis Michael Thompson, 70, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center. 

He was born on Sept. 10, 1952, in St. Louis, the son of Ben Hollis and Lillian Fern Powles Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his mother, Fern Thompson of Dongola; two brothers, Steven (Diana) Thompson of Jonesboro and David (Monika) Thompson of Herrin; two nephews, Aaron Thompson, and Lee (Nicole) Thompson; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Thompson; and a brother, John William Thompson.

He was retired from the Bureau of Reclamation, where he worked over 30 years in various positions. He enjoyed being outdoors and taking walks in the park.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola. 

Friends may call after 11 a.m. and until the service hour at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the funeral home. 

Memorials can be made to St. John’s Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
