Dillard Wayne ‘Speck’ Masterson

Dillard Wayne “Speck” Masterson, 67, of Olive Branch, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his residence. 

Mr. Masterson was born on June 30, 1954, in Cairo, the son of Dillard and Lillie Henke Masterson.

Throughout his career, he served as an operating engineer, worked on the river and spent many years farming.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth Lawrence and Crystal Altenthal (Aaron); two grandchildren, Kate (Cody) House and Breydan Hager; one great-grandchild on the way; siblings Pearl (Larry) Senn, Rose (Mickey) Sissom, Joyce (Jerry) Baker, Randy Masterson and Sherry (Philip) Dothager; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service honoring the life of Dillard Wayne “Speck” Masterson was at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating. 

Inurnment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
