Don ‘Bullett’ McRaven

Don “Bullett” McRaven, 88, of Jonesboro, died at 1:28 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Jonesboro Rehab in Jonesboro.

He was born on April 14, 1929, in Tamms, the son of Curtis and Refa Groves McRaven.

He married Eva Bernice Henderson on Nov. 13, 1948.

He was a hard worker. He worked for Transcraft as a welder, worked construction and was a farmer. He was a member of Valley Mission Pentecostal Church. He loved working on his farm, hunting and most of all being with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Bernice McRaven of Jonesboro; five children, Donald W. (Mary) McRaven of Belknap, Darryl McRaven (Marsha Brown) of Jonesboro, Donna McRaven of Dongola, Diane Hudgins of Dongola and Daphne (Steve) Huffman of Thebes; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; special  caregiver Shannon Cook; many nieces,  nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Homer McRaven, Henry McRaven and Carl Edward McRaven; two sisters, Oma Calvert and Edna Arnhart; and a grandson, Dennis Hudgins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Paul Mayberry and the Rev. Bill Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at McCrite Cemetery in Tamms.
