Donna Henson

Donna Henson, 71, of Dongola, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at her residence. 

She was born on Oct. 25, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and AnnaLea Burton Garrison. 

She married Carroll Henson on Jan. 30, 1971. He survives. 

Mrs. Henson was a retired registered nurse. She worked in the Marion Surgery Center, and her first nursing job was in the obstetrics department at the Southeast Missouri Hospital. 

She loved her family and they always came first to her. She loved to dance with her husband, Carroll, and cooking, especially baking. She always put the needs of others first, and was truly one of the best people you could ever meet.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Doug Henson; a daughter, Lynette Henson; a granddaughter, Leanna Henson; a brother, Howard (Miki) Garrison; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Leach; a brother-in-law, Vern (Barb) Henson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. 

She was was preceded in death by her parents. 

A memorial gathering was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. A memorial service immediately followed at the funeral home, with Pastor Henry Miller officiating. Inurnment took place at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery following the service.
