Donna Kay Caraker Sadler
Donna Kay Caraker Sadler, 70, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Cobden after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1947, in Anna, the daughter of Curtis and Helen Kirkpatrick Caraker.
She is survived by her son, Collin Crews (Lori Williams) of Anna; one daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Sadler of Cobden; four grandchildren, Tyler Sadler (Alexis Charles), Luke Sadler, Ashton (Jake) Casey and Ashton’s mother, Deanna (Lane) Cruse, and Taylor Crews; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Aliyah Casey; a brother, Robert (Betty) Caraker of Anna; a sister, Glenda (Larry) Koeller of Winslow; special friends Gerald Bauer and Karen Schlenker; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Landon Tyler Sadler.
She worked for many years at Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna as a registered nurse until her retirement. She was actively involved in many community activities. She enjoyed Sunshine Inn for seniors. She especially enjoyed activities with the 4-H group for kids; many of the children with 4-H have grown to know her as MeMaw Donna.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Darryl Williams officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
