Doris Bennett

Doris J. Bennett, 62, of Johnston City, and formerly of Anna, died at 12:14 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at her home.

She was born on March 30, 1954, in Anna, the daughter of Rollie and Billie Jean Lambert Wright.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeremy Bennett of Whiteash and Jason (Jamine) Bennett of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Linda Hickam of Johnston City; and one brother, Drury Wright of Johnston City; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a grandson, Ronan Bennett.

She worked as a registered nurse for the VA Hospital in Marion for many years.

Graveside services for Mrs. Bennett were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
