Edward ‘Eddie’ Casper

Edward “Eddie” Casper, 76, of Cobden, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at his home. 

He was born on March 24, 1946, in Anna, the son of Adolphus “Jimmie” and Esther Kelly Garner Casper. He married Lynn Wilson. 

Mr. Casper is survived by his wife, Lynn Casper; a daughter, Kimberly (Samuel) Cheek; grandchildren Mariah Gilbert (Jacob Webster), Daniel Wade Kelso, Edward William Kelso and Nelson Cheek; great-grandchildren Alex Gilbert, Nick Gilbert and Makenzia Webster; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Wesley Casper; and siblings Gerald, Nancy, Robbie and Bobbie Casper.

Mr. Casper served in the U.S. Marines, the National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Medal for Bravery for his time of service. 

There will be no services held for Mr. Casper. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
